Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Consultant to join our team. The role focuses on the technical design, development, customization, and integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) solutions. You will collaborate with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and project managers to deliver scalable and efficient ERP solutions tailored to client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Development

• Develop, customize, and extend Business Central using AL language, Visual Studio Code, and Extensions (apps).

• Build integrations between Business Central and third-party systems using APIs, web services, and middleware.

• Design and implement data migration strategies, including ETL processes.

• Optimize system performance and ensure solutions adhere to Microsoft best practices.

Solution Delivery & Support

• Translate functional specifications into technical designs and deliverables.

• Collaborate with functional consultants to ensure business requirements are met.

• Perform system testing, debugging, and issue resolution.

• Provide technical documentation and user guides.

• Support go-live activities and post-implementation technical assistance.

System Administration & Maintenance

• Manage upgrades, patches, and updates for Business Central environments.

• Ensure system stability, security, and compliance with governance frameworks.

• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues.

Collaboration & Advisory

• Work closely with clients to understand technical requirements and advise on solution design.

• Provide technical input for proposals, RFP responses, and project planning.

• Share knowledge with colleagues, mentor junior developers, and contribute to internal best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV development.

• Proficiency in AL, C/AL, C/SIDE, Visual Studio Code, and extensions model.

• Experience with Azure services, SQL Server, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps).

• Strong knowledge of Business Central APIs, OData, and Web Services.

• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, version control (Git), and CI/CD processes.

Business & Consulting Skills

• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

• Good understanding of ERP concepts, financials, supply chain, and manufacturing modules.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MB-800: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate).

• Previous experience in a consulting or partner environment.

• Experience with upgrades/migrations from Dynamics NAV to Business Central.

• Knowledge of industry-specific ERP requirements.

• Salary: Above market - can be negotiated

• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH - can be negotiated depending on candidates’ location
